Influenced by Fleetwood Mac and Bombay Bicycle Club alike, Chloe Foy artistically encapsulates both old and new styles of music. The Manchester-based artist mixes both traditional and contemporary folk, and include hints of chamber pop and jazz at times. And not to let her dazzling voice go unnoticed. Foy’s heartwarming vocals are the centerpiece of each track, soaring high up above and ascending even higher when least expected.
Foy’s latest work, 2017 sophomore EP Are We There Yet?, exemplifies the blending of styles and textures throughout the course of its five tracks. The opener, “Flaws,” entices the listener into a dream-like state through looping guitar melodies, aided by Foy’s comforting vocals. The use of ambient noise and atmospheric filters throughout the project help create a natural soundscape.
